In 2011 I co-authored a paper on Enterprise 2.0. We posited, and not alone, that any future transformation would be fed by a combination of changes in the people that made up an organization, the processes those people used, and the technology that supported those. I find today, after an 18 month transformation that was forced upon much of the digital-knowledge based world, that this triangle is still relevant, and too-often ignored. Speaking @ SUG-DC: Modernizing Gov IT and Securing Collaboration in M365

This past week I spoke at the SharePoint User Group DC (virtually) about collaboration and security in M365. There's a lot of question about how do we enable collaboration in highly regulated industries, from Federal, State, and Local governments, to systems integrators and the Defense Industrial Base. In these spaces, we see a lot of concern over data access for foreign citizens, contractors, US & European citizens data, and general concern over highly sensitive information. I have spent a lot of time evaluating native capabilties for M365 with customers, which specialize in openness and sharing, and where 3rd party tools or HEAVY configuration and custom apps (such as Power Platform) are needed. In this presentation, I use the AvePoint Cloud Governance platform as an example of the types of things you should do to ensure your data is secure.

Announcing the M365 Government Community Call!
M365 Government Community Call March - Security & Compliance and MS Ignite

We will bring in subject matter experts from Microsoft, government agencies, and supporting consultants and contractors to discuss topics that matter to the users of these environments. We will spotlight government-focused community events. And we will do our best to spotlight where documentation, features, vendors, and government are helping to further the community and technology available to them. My monthly cohosts include

It's glorious! This post includes my and some of my favorite responses to the 7 questions posed during this TweetJam. Check it out!
